Hey there pony fans!  It has come to the attention of the mods that there is a lot of art being submitted recently that doesn't look like a whole lot of effort has been put into it.  We love that you guys are doing so much pony-centric art, but we want to be clear that this group is not a dumping ground for your sketches and scribbles.  You have a special scrapbook in your dA gallery for those things!  This gallery is for serious, finished art and we want to elaborate so that you all understand just what we're on about!

So, without further ado, the amendement to the rules, which goes into effect immediately,  is as follows:

-----

Only quality artwork will be accepted.  Drawings submitted on lined paper (unless the lines are somehow a part of the art) are absolutely NOT allowed.

Art that has been scanned or photographed must be a high-quality image, which means no shadows or glare marks from the scan or camera flash.  Any art that has been scanned and has marks too light to discern will also be rejected.

Any traditional drawings that have been scanned in must be free of eraser marks, smears, and unintended pencil marks.  Any full-color art must show appropriate care in the coloring.

------

Worry not, we are not going to reject your work based on your skill level; that's not what this new rule is about.  It's just that we want to encourage everyone to put lots of effort into their work and make it the best it can be.

Some of you may be thinking now, "Well I don't have Photoshop, so I can't clean up my art once I've scanned it into the computer!"  But you can!  There are free programs out there that you can use to clean your work up.  If you need help finding such programs, just note the club and we will help you out!

I have a question before I start submitting...Most of my pony art is colored pencil traditional... such as this: [link] Is that clean enough to be accepted, or do I need to clean it up more?

Well, that pretty much goes for most of my art....

Might as well leave the group, then....

1: Do not use lined papier in you're work.
2: Geta a fineliner or a black pen and draw you're lines on it.
3: Get photoshop and you can color it that way.
4: If it doesn't work get Paint Sai and you can use the line or pen tool to do the line art and color it.
5: practice with markers of color pencils?

I've seen plenty of your work come through that was perfectly good...no need to be upset! Also, if you need a program to clean your work up, try GIMP [link] It's very similar to Photoshop...before I got PS, I used GIMP all the time and it was super easy to use, not to mention there are tutorials galore!

You're pretty good Rose! We can tell, based on how long you've been doing this and such, you put effort forth in your work.
You can still submit what you have been, just make sure no lined paper for this particular club and just watch out for smears like you have in this one - [link]
And make sure the scanning is cleaner then like this one - [link]
If we do decline one we will tell you why, but follow the new rules a bit closer and you should be good!

You could color your drawings maybe? (I'm not related to the staff or anything). Your colored art stand out from the rest of your gallery ^^

I'm not good at traditionally coloring my art, though. =/

Don't want to in fear of screwing it up.
